Dear praying friends,

Part of my goal as Director of the New Hampshire Branch of Open Air Campaigners is to find new places to share the gospel!

Thankfully I have great friends who help me with that. A friend named Alex said to me, “Have you considered evangelizing at The Taco Tour in Manchester?” (Manchester is large city about 20 minutes from me.) I hadn’t heard of the Taco Tour, so Alex told me all about it.

It turns out that it’s an annual event that occurs on Public Streets (a must!), and draws hundreds of people (a plus!).

The organizers of the event invite local restaurants to setup and sell tacos on the street, but they have to be priced at just $2 each.

Apparently $2 tacos is very inviting to many many people!!!

I knew it was big when I realized how difficult it was to find parking. LOTS of people were there! And they like walking around trying different $2 tacos.

When it was still light out, I used my “Will You Go To Heaven?” banner to strike up conversations with folks. It worked well, and my team gave out a few hundred gospel booklets.

But once it got dark out, and I could use my fluorescent paint and black-light, people just flocked to my board to ask questions and hear the gospel. I went over the gospel message over and over and over again, as new groups of people approached. It was outstanding!!!

If you know of any events that you think would be good for me and my team to go evangelize at, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

Here are some people who stood out:

• Gary: Gary Gary, a 55-year-old man I spoke with. He was drunk, and used the F-word liberally. He told me, “I used to be you 30 years ago.” Gary grew up in an evangelism family, and did Street Evangelism until his Mom died of Cancer. He told me that because of her suffering, he couldn’t follow Jesus anymore. I gave Gary my condolences on the loss of his Mom. I even told him that I have a chronic medical condition that makes me suffer, and suffering is horrible. But I said that I can’t deny Jesus because He offers salvation from sins, and that’s way more important than a cure for cancer or a suffering-free life. This life is short! Gary was sad and conflicted. He said that he’s glad I was out sharing the gospel, but he also said that he has cursed Jesus so many times. I assured him that Jesus can forgive and redeem him.

• Eric: Eric is a middle-aged Jewish man. He was clearly drunk, and he was clearly “messing with me.” He was pretending to be a homosexual, and I knew he was pretending because his buddy wasn’t in on the gag and he looked repulsed when Eric told me they were lovers. Still, I answered Eric’s objections, including his questions about homosexuality. When we were done talking, he told me, “You passed the test. You weren’t a jerk.” He said he was trying to get me to be mean, but he said I didn’t crack. I guess I’ll take that as a compliment, and praise God for it! I surprised Eric by telling him that I’m Jewish and it’s no accident that he ran into a Jewish guy talking about Jesus. I gave him a copy of my testimony, A Jew and His God. • James: James was a very polite young man in his early 20’s. He said he wanted to take “the test” to see if he would go to Heaven. So I asked him about a few of God’s Commandments. Had he ever lied? James admitted he had. Had he ever stolen. James admitted he had. Had he ever lusted? James admitted he had. Understand, James was polite and calm through all of this, but then he changed nearly instantly. I have never seen anything like this. I told him, “James, you’ve been very honest with me, but you’ve admitted that you’re guilty of being a liar, a thief, and an adulterer. If God were to judge you by the Ten Commandments, where do you suppose you deserve to go?” Please understand, that I have asked this of hundreds of people and never once have I seen what happened to James. This kind young man turned instantly foul. His face got angry and he swore at me, “This is the f-ing stupidest f-ing thing I’ve ever f-ing heard!” And he ran off! I pleaded with him to stay and that I had good news, but he was gone. How sad to listen to the bad news without listening to the good news. Please pray for James.

I thank Jesus for an excellent evening of evangelism at this Taco Tour, and, Lord willing, I look forward to going again next year!
