I’m excited to report that Jesus has ALREADY done great things on the streets of Boston!
We’ve given out thousands of gospel tracts. Just imagine the impact if even 1% get read!
I believe the gospel is “the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16), so it is an honor to share the gospel message through open-air preaching, gospel literature, and one-on-one conversations!
Some notable people God sent our way that I’d like prayer for are:
- A Group of Muslim Teens from Dubai: I approached a group of teens, and from the dress of the girls, I could tell they were Muslim. I broke the ice with a “curved illusion” that teaches that our eyes deceive us. They really liked that and each took a gospel tract from me. Then they listened to me preach in the open air when I got started a few minutes later. How cool to reach a group from Dubai! If I traveled to Dubai, I wouldn’t be free to share Jesus publicly on the street there. But in Boston the Muslim world comes to us!

Dariella: Dariella is a 14-year-old girl I met in downtown Boston. She told me that she can’t get into Heaven because she’s gay. She’s 14! Fourteen! I don’t know about you, but 14 was a very confusing time for me hormonally. But the world is changing and is convincing kids about sexuality at a young age. Dariella was so sweet. She listened to my whole open-air message, and we talked afterwards about God’s offer of salvation. She also took a gospel booklet. I told her that even if she is gay, God can forgive anyone of anything. And it’s not being gay that keeps people from Heaven. It’s breaking God’s laws. She admitted to being a liar, a thief, an adulterer, and I pleaded with her to take Jesus’ offer to take her sin on Himself if she’ll repent and believe.

Aldwayne: Aldwayne is a young man in his 20’s who I met last autumn on the streets. He was sooo excited to come up to me the other day! He said he needs Christian encouragement and lost my contact info he got from me last year. So I got his email address and have already sent him an encouraging note! It’s a privilege to build up and encourage Christians in the street!
-
Shane: Shane is a young man who was clearly strung up on drugs when we met him. He listened to our preaching in the open air and when we approached him, he said he needed help. He claimed to be a born-again Christian, but wondered why he couldn’t get off drugs. He told us he had taken Methadone that day, and then smoked Marijuana afterwards. We prayed for him on the spot. If he’s not saved, we prayed that Jesus would save him. If he is, we prayed for power to demolish these strongholds in his life. I counseled him to get away from his friends who are into drugs and get involved with a strong Bible-teaching church. I have already emailed him encouragement. Please keep Shane in your prayers.

Connie: Connie could very well be an answer to prayer! You see, I’ve had a heavy burden to minister on the streets in Chinatown, but I don’t speak Mandarin. Yet I have a heart for the Chinese people. Then Connie, a sweet and older Chinese woman who is a Born-Again Christian approached us and told us that she LOVES how we share the gospel. We chatted a while and have been emailing.
Regarding meeting her, this is what she wrote to me in an email: “It was interesting that I happened to walk by Winter Street at the same time and the same place during the ministry work (I seldom go to downtown Boston). I planned to go elsewhere other than Downtown Crossing originally on that day and truly did not know why I ‘forgot’ to head to the place I had in mind. God’s plan and will??”
Connie has agreed to go out to Chinatown with us an translate for us! Please pray this goes well and we can work out the logistics!!! 🙂
There are more exciting things Jesus has done and more people to pray for and they’re in the photos below. I hope you are encouraged by them! 🙂

Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!
Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it!
all for Jesus,
Mark (and family)
