As excited as I am about reaching the lost for Jesus, I think I’m even MORE EXCITED about helping Christians become more effective at personal evangelism. We’re all in this together after all!
This past Saturday, a Pastor from Cape Cod brought 19 others from his church to spend the day with us in Boston to learn how to run an evangelistic Neighborhood Kids Bible Club.
They came in the morning, and Eric and I taught them aspects of running a Kids Club. We prayed, we assigned “jobs” to the team, we split up into two teams, and hit the streets to put what we learned into practice!
The idea is that they take what they learned back with them to Cape Cod and what they experienced with us in Boston will help them become more effective evangelists, and even run Neighborhood Kids Bible Clubs back where they live!
It was a superb team and God provided two great Kids Clubs.
The Club I ran had a little “snag.” The Kids Club was going great, and a few moments into when I was teaching the Bible story, an Ice Cream Truck parked about 10 feet from where we were gathered, turned on its hypnotizing jingle music, and within moments, all 25 of the kids we gathered we GONE!
I’ll admit it, I was discouraged. I told Eric about it, and with his 25 years experience running these clubs, he told me tongue-in-cheek that Ice Cream Trucks are run by “the devil’s evil minions.”
But some of the kids came back, and we made a good impression on the neighborhood, so all wasn’t lost. Also, we go to that neighborhood a lot, so we’ll be back and try again. It was disappointing about the timing of the Ice Cream Truck though.
Also, it was a calm day with no wind, but out of nowhere a strong gust of wind came and my paint-board fell over and hit me in the head! Ouch! The board actually separated into two pieces and I needed two of the teens to hold the board up in order to use it. You never know what will happen in the open air!
I praise Jesus that even with the Ice Cream Truck, the kids heard the gospel message. I also thank God that the 20 Christians who came with us were excited about bringing their new skills back home with them to be Evangelists on Cape Cod!!!

Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!
Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it!
all for Jesus,
Mark (and family)
