Well, today’s the day, my last day working for Fidelity Investments. This has been coming for over a year since God called my family and me as full-time Missionaries, but today is the day. This is the largest “leap of faith” either Shelby or myself have ever taken. And here we go…
Please keep us in prayer, as Fidelity Investments is a good employer financially speaking. There will be many changes for our family now that we no longer have our Fidelity paycheck. We are currently at about 20% of what we need for monthly giving, and I will now be reaching out more to ask people like you to prayerfully consider giving monthly to enable us to reach out to people with the gospel. If I didn’t think it was worthwhile, I wouldn’t ask, and I wouldn’t be leaving Fidelity.
I am strengthened in my resolve to preach the gospel and help other Christians to preach the gospel when I remember that we are on this planet a very short amount of time. When everything ends, all that will be left is God Himself, and the souls of men. If people die without the mercy of Jesus Christ, they will be lost in Hell forever. How amazing that God wants to use me and you to reach some of them. Wow.
It is not only my last day at Fidelity, but tonight my church is having a Christmas Party. There will be people there who do not know Christ. And I was asked to share the Christmas message and share the gospel. Please keep tonight in your prayers.
I can’t help but be amused at the irony that I am leaving the corporate world in the afternoon, and preaching the gospel the same night. God’s timing! Today is a microcosm, or a picture, of what God is doing in my life. What an amazing God we serve!
Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your friendship. God bless you!
in Christ and for His glory,
Mark (and Shelby, and Vivienne, Juliana, Caleb, and Gabriella)
