You never know how God is going to work… a few weeks ago, I brought my family on vacation for a weekend at a Christian camp in northern Maine. There I met a nice woman who liked the ministry I do, so she gave my card to one of her Pastors at Bangor Baptist Church, in Bangor, ME. A few days later, the Pastor called me and invited me to help evangelize at an upcoming “Trunk-or-Treat” outreach they’re having.
One thing lead to another, and before you knew it, the weekend evolved to me teaching an evangelism “crash course” on Saturday morning. Then an outreach to invite folks to the “Trunk-or-Treat” and then the actual “Trunk-or-Treat” event. And then on Sunday morning I preached the message at Children’s Church. Crazy busy weekend, but so rewarding!
Here’s a video of the sketch board message I gave at the “Trunk-or-Treat.”
And here are some photos. Please click on them to enlarge.

What’s a “Trunk-or-Treat?” Kids from the town were invited to come to the parking lot of the church building where there were many cars lined up, each with different candy in their trunks. The kids could walk around and collect candy. There was also real food and hay rides. We passed out hundreds of gospel tracts, and I was able to preach the gospel with my sketch board and using magic tricks. It was a great time!
The Children’s Ministry is very impressive at Bangor Baptist Church. They are serious about reaching and teaching these precious kids. They average approximately 85 children at each of their two services. About 8-10 children indicated that they turned from their sin and trusted Christ for the very first time that day! Pastor Steve got to chat with each of them, and he told me he believed five of them really understood what they were doing. I find that just fantastic and amazing!
I praise God for this superb weekend, and I ask you for your prayers for both the saved and unsaved who were touched this weekend.
in Christ and for His glory,
Mark
