I often say that “sharing your faith in Boston is like being on a different overseas mission trip every day!” I got to experience that with 8 others from my church a few weeks back as I lead a team down to Boston to share Christ with people from all over the world.
A number of the people who participated were new to sharing their faith, and it was a big step for them to come down for this week. But God was soooo good!
We had evangelism training every day, and by the end of the week, everyone had a lot of experience sharing their faith in the city with people from all walks of life.
There were two specific types of ministry that everyone was involved with:
- Street Evangelism: This is when we go out to a populated area and preach in the open air, usually using our paint boards, and that leads to many one-on-one gospel conversations. We went to Downtown Boston, Harvard Square, and Hampton Beach, and we met and spoke with people from all walks of life. We also gave out thousands of gospel tracts, so people could read them later. This week we partnered with The Arab Evangelical Baptist Church, and it was fun for me, a Jew who believes in Jesus, to have fellowship and peace with Arabs who believe in Jesus. In Jesus, there is peace!
- Children’s Ministry: We also ran a 5-day kids club in an inner-city neighborhood where we learned that God cares about all people, black, white, rich, and poor, and that the need for the gospel is great. We partnered with a Bible church literally on the same street so that the kids (and adults) reached could be followed up and discipled by the church.
God gave us an AMAZING week! 🙂
I’ll let the photos tell the stories. My thanks to everyone who shared their photos with me. Some of the photographers were Becca, Brittney, Jay, Nikki, and Sue!
The following are photos that tell the story of the week. Please click on them to enlarge and read the descriptions. 🙂

Videos:
Two of the messages I preached in the open air were recorded and put on YouTube.
In the first, I made use of a brain-teaser puzzle to transition into a gospel message. This was filmed at the historic “Harvard Square” in the heart of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
“To Whom Do You Turn – a Brain Teaser at Harvard”:
In the second, I describes three “facts” we all know for sure, and use that to transition into a gospel message.
“True Facts – 3 Things We All Know For Sure!”:
Jay recorded some of the tug-of-war and this short clip is fun! 🙂
