Does God use the book of Ecclesiastes to save people?
This past Sunday, one of my Pastors, Steve Ozaroff, preached a sermon from 2 Timothy 3:16 (“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”)
One of the points he made was to ask us if we act as though we believe that “ALL” of Scripture is inspired and useful.
That made me think of a testimony I heard a number of years back from Christian Comedian Jeff Allen. God used the book of Ecclesiastes to bring him to faith. I must admit that I don’t think of Ecclesiastes as one of the top books of the Bible I would share with a non-Christian to bring them to faith, but it goes to show that “the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12), and “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). The “All” in that sentence means ALL! Praise God!
This is an amazing story of God’s grace. In this video, Jeff Allen, who is usually known for being very funny, gets very serious. He shows brave vulnerability in sharing what he has done before coming to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. Please take the time to watch this video. It might not be appropriate for children. There are no swears, but the content is very heavy. I hope it is a blessing to you!
